I am considering EWI for a large gable end on Victorian terrace.
My choice of render would have been lime-based for breathability if I was doing directly onto the brick.

I’ve been offered EWI with silicone render and wondering if it matters what render I use on the outer coat if I have EWI in place?

thanks

K Rend do a suitable render for EWI

The advantage over the others is that it doesn’t need a separate scratch coat

and it’s also breathable

Breathability is much less of an issue with EWI as the wall never gets cold and if the EWI is detailed well will be quite dry.

Is the insulation EPS? We went for a renderer that used Sto. It's fantastic.
