One fun one - amtico reviews are terrible on trustpilot:

(and karndean - which was suggested to me was inferior - is actually better reviewed but still pretty poor)

 

Maybe I should just go for concrete and be done with it or somesuch. Sigh. 

 

But more seriously, we are now gravitating somewhat back to tiles, or tiles(kitchen/bath) and engineered wood (living downstairs). Or should we ignore trustpilot?

Bought Amtico from ebay and stuck it down myself. 

It needs to be super flat so SLC is a must I think. 

It's only been 2 years but I suspect it'll last until the next ice age. 

 

We also have some click fit LVT from Pergo, oak effect, fitted floating not glued. Much simpler to fit but nowhere as tough as the Amtico. Also floating wouldn't be my choice again as it has bubbled slightly in 2 of the rooms. It is far warmer underfoot than normal tiles and substantially more forgiving for children falling and dropped plates etc.

I'd say 55 reviews on trustpilot is not statistically meaningful, given happy customers probably don't even think to go there and make a review - at most they'll drop a review with their supplier/installer. 

Obviously amtico are not actively harvesting reviews to there like big customer facing companies do.

Is this a floating click floor? Is it noisy when upstairs (assumption) is walked on, from below?

Yep it sits directly onto caberboard or screed. There is a lot of insulation between the floors but some noise does permeate down. Doesn't bother us as we have an unconventional layout.
