MJNewton
We’ve got a Persimmon house and I’ve actually been really quite impressed with how well it was built, and I’ve seen it from virtually every angle and perspective having modified and extended it over the years. It was the show home though, so presumably first-built and perhaps the one that was subject to inspection with all the others just assumed to be built the same! SuperJohnG
Interesting to see how the have incentivised senior management to deliver better quality standards which is a positive step.
nod
In actual fact Todays new builds are far superior to houses that where previously built The real problem lies with Air testing and independent quality inspections Or lack of them Most of the new homes I work on score 2 on airtightness and cone with anNHBC certification The fact that I hardly ever see an NHBC inspector and it’s several years since I’ve seen an air test being carried out Makes both of the above worthless Our daughter recently bought a 4 bed Red Row home Both her and her partner are professionals and probably pretty typical buyer There criteria was Location m2 Price Most people won’t ask or care about energy performance when buying a new house So the builders will only do what the are legislated to do It has to come from the top I wonder if Persimmons are Tory Donors
