IanMcP Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Hey I have a 100m run from site kiosk to the house. It will be into a temp meter box for a while. Along the way it crosses a boundary where a wall will be built later. what covering / duct etc do I need under the wall area ? Normal depth and warning tape etc will be applied.
PeterW Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Min 750mm deep, use 75mm corrugated black duct for at least 1m either side and make sure it’s got the proper tape across the whole area. Better would be to cast the footing for the wall so it’s visible from the outset or at least a 2m section where this is. 100m is a long run though - will this become permanent ..?
IanMcP Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 Yes tape etc all in hand. 100m it is … can’t move the source any closer ! That’s why it’s 50mm. Ouch. ££
Russell griffiths Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Just done mine 115m in 50mm best part of £1000 plus vat.
IanMcP Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 CEF are £14 per metre. Let me know if you know somewhere cheaper

TonyT Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Swa cable can be buried direct into the ground so need to duct?
IanMcP Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 Normally no. It’s crossing a boundary where wall will be built.
PeterW Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Why not go 3 phase at that point and go 4x16 and utilize the phases differently ..?? Easier than chucking 50mm around and cheaper too.
IanMcP Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 Don’t have that option. Single phase from 100amp is all the UKPN gods gave me.
