Haylingbilly
Hi all, I am currently rendering onto a timber frame and looking at battens, render board and a thin coat render. The architect has specified a trim at the base of the render board - for insect control I guess, but also to feed the end of the breather membrane into. I can't find anywhere who supplies these - can anyone help please?
Temp
Architects are great for specifying things that are hard to find. Where did he get his drawing from? I've seen stuff like this.. https://www.roofinglines.co.uk/product/cedral-cladding-insect-mesh-50mm-x-30mm-x-25m https://www.southern-timber.co.uk/product/cladding-timbers/james-hardie-hardieplank/buying-hardieplank-products/hardieplank-starter-vent/ Edited November 9, 2021 by Temp
bassanclan
Is it one of these beads? https://www.plasterers1stopshop.co.uk/product-category/render-plaster-supplies/beads/rendering-beads/ Once you know what you are looking for exactly you can ask at your local builder's merchant or render supplier.

Mr Punter
I have used this https://www.squaredealupvcshop.co.uk/product/hardie-top-vent-strip/ in the past but it is quite expensive. I have also used stainless steel mesh on a roll, stapled to the battens https://www.amazon.co.uk/Stainless-Insect-Mesh-0-94mm-0-22mm/dp/B077XY6PWJ

Manthorpe Continuous Soffit Vent (10,000mm2) - 2.44m White | Roofing Superstore® we used soffit vents - you can get them in different colours though you dont see them anyhow, cheap as chips and easily attached and cut down
