CIL question

How long after gaining planning permission does the CIL exemption get granted? 

 

We recently gained PP but have not heard anything from CIL dept.  Do they tend to contact us or should we contact them?  When compiling the form i recall we shouldn't start work until we have exemption granted...

We submitted our Cil with our materials submission and expect to do the same this time

Did you send in the CIL exemption claim form at same time as the PP application?  

 

If so I suspect they couldn't process it until PP was granted and not sure anyone will have told them.

They normally get in contact very soon after approval. But like with all things, they may be dealing with a current backlog. Maybe give it a couple of weeks and if you still haven’t heard, get in contact with them.

Does the CIL dept take your word for the m2 of the new building or do they check themselves? 

 

We had to make some tweaks to our drawings after submitting the planning, therefore the CIL form i initially sent in is not accurate.  At £175pm2 i am keen for the calculation to be spot on!

It would depend how much it’s out. If it’s minor, i.e. a few square metres then I wouldn’t worry about it. If the increase (or decrease) is noticeable, then look to submit revised figures.
