TryC Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Hi All, Does anyone know if it is OK to paint a radiator (using radiator paint), over existing paint on the radiator? I am not sure what type of paint is on there to be honest. If I have to remove the said old, unknown paint on the radiator, how best to do this please?
Conor Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Give it a really good rub down with with fine sand paper. Done it loads of times.

Conor Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Also, wear a mask. You do not want to breath in 40 year old paint dust. For the painting, run over the lot with a small gloss roller, smooths out the brush marks from the thick paint. And take the damn thing off the wall first!!!

I just lined around it the other day!
PeterW Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 I use Easysand as it’s just a wipe on and wipe off job then.
