Lots of tools out of stock?

Been on the hunt for acrow props, cement mixer, STS drills from builders merchants, screw fix etc.

Lots of places are out of stock or hiking their prices.

When enquiring I have had the following responses:

* Brexit delays
* Suez Canal
* Covid19
* An upturn in building projects (DIY and commercial)

Anyone else experiencing issues getting tools?

Not stock issues, but I ordered some plasterboard, P5 flooring and other timber and am now waiting over a week for a delivery slot on the builders merchants wagon.

Everything at the moment Even something like staples are in short supply 

The government has caused this by people people to stay at home 

Something we will have to put up with till September when hopefully the government will end the free cash 

 

Cement is in very short supply at the moment

Limited amount of goods coming out of china still, plus demand is at an all time high.

Timber still in short supply due to the mills being closed when covid hit and they thought demand would slump .... but it went the opposite way.

Copper price is on the increase as demand climbs

My wife's family has a plant hire business. They've had their best year, including a couple of their best months, in the 25+ years they've been operating. Amazing given building wasn't happening for some of that period.

yes, friends and customers have an old well established  plant hire company, also sells small tools etc and they have had their best year since they started
