Fibre Tape

I’ve just finished the bill of quality for a large housing site (180) and noticed the client has speced paper tape in all angles 

This as gone a full circle for me 

30 years ago we moved from hessian to paper Then fibre tape While convenient Not grey for stopping cracks So much so I used paper tape on our build 3 years on no cracks anywhere 

I think things are sometimes change without any need

Couldnt agree more, same with consumer units ... historically all metal, some bakalite, then they must be plastic (for safety) and now back to metal

It is the same in my industry.  People change things so they can be seen to be doing something. It is easier than trying to solve the real problems in many cases.
