Dave O
Hi all, happy Monday! I have recently moved into a new build property and have noticed the felt in the attic is constantly wet. Is is this normal? Please sea attached photos. many thanks David
tonyshouse
Normal in cold weather, should go during the day, likely no vapour barrier on ceiling and some air leakage from the house into the loft making it worse than it might be.
ProDave
Looking at the state of the loft insulation, it looks to have been thrown in rather than carefully laid. so it would not surprise me to find gaps where warm air from the house can get through and as mentioned above if no vapour barrier moist air getting through. Looks typical of a poorly built mass produced developer house I am afraid.
Temp
Check insulation isn't blocking ventilation at the eaves..
Jason L
plus have you got a good insulated air tight loft hatch ?
