Por968t
Hi all, new here, have a question, I've got a 8x4m concrete slab 10" thick and reinforced, id like to erect a timber garage on it, the question is, whats best to put directly onto the concrete to build the walls off? I don't want to build a block or brick wall, but also don't want the thing rotting out? The walls will not be to the edge of the slab, about 250mm in each side. Bitpipe
I'd guess a pressure treated timber soleplate - I have seen plastic equivalents for log cabin kits also.

Welcome. Straight to the point. Excellent. I can't remember when, but this question has been asked before: since you are new I'll show you how the search part of the site works . Are you sitting comfortably ? Then I'll begin. ? A search for the term sole plate first perhaps ( written "sole plate" )? Gives this result way too many, so try it in the title bar only (content titles) Sole Plate in the title ; much better, now scan the titles and see that the term concrete is also there.... Gives this result and a bit lower in the list BINGO There's your result...... and all for nowt. Good eh? Enjoy your stay with us. Ian
SteamyTea
Or the easy way is to use Google and just search the site as the forum search is pretty poor.
