ancient woodland can be a right pain in the rear! Killed a house site near me recently!

You're going to get into a bit of cost with those consultees!

Archaeology can get a bit open ended, I've not had too many nightmares with that to date (touch wood)

Glad to see.

AIUI ancient woodland is legally defined in Scotland as continuously existing since before 1750.

Hmm. Is there an opportunity for a Green Burial site, or a Scottish version of the long-barrow-columbarium that that Salisbury Farmer Tim Daw build on an unused corner.

There's a different company now run by different people developing a chain of them with very nice burial prices thank-you-very-much; they have even been puffed by Countryfile. Are they looking for opportunities?

What is appropriate for West Scotland?

definately a different idea

think digging could be a problem

how about burial at sea -- or in a lake  in a quarry ?

yuo could a have wonderful place for the services over looking the lake--

not sure a viking type funeral with burning boat would be practical

nearest crenmatorium is 60 or 80 miles away ----maybe that could work

mains gas running down the road at gate

but as all these things -- for someone else to do

this is the listing for the glebe

Can I ask how you presented your pre planning? A letter? Elevations? Floorplans or anything else?

all the above and my architect quoted planning sections that would support our developement

I just finished showing first couple round the site  and he was a retired builder

less than a day -- that looks good

sent them away to think it through --their minds were blown by the possibilities
