Condensate

Morning gang. Should the condensate on my daughters boiler look like this. I took it off a couple of weeks ago, and cleaned it out. The ball was very sticky. Is it right that the ball should be right at the top, and the condensate trap full of fluid?

I assume it needs water to make sure nasty gasses don’t escape. .. No idea how ‘full’ it’s supposed to be tho. 
 

Have you checked that the pipe is free flowing? I.e. the condensate can go somewhere.

Yep. Free flowing into the toilet cistern.

It should remain full, the excess is discharged via the vent pipe. They do getr gummed up with sediment and gunk that needs cleaning out occasionally
