GrantMcscott
Hi My Joiner is putting on DPC stuff at the bottom of the timber frame and where the top of the first floor meets the floor joists . Is this necessary as I have never seen it done before? See pic
Mr Punter
It is normally just under the soleplate. Is that going to be a cavity tray at the bottom?

dpmiller
is the upper strip wrapped around the floor cassette as a TonyTray perhaps?

Both are stapled flat to the building the only thing I can see it doing is the same as the building wrap. also does anyone know the chance of water Ingres and then getting through a hole in the wrap as my wrap has plenty of patch repairs. Water has to get through clad 100 mm block and then jump 50mm cavety Edited August 15, 2020 by GrantMcscott
Gone West
I had the DPC under the sole plate and then turned up around 200mm over the outside of the OSB racking and stapled. Then the Protect membrane went down to the sole plate covering the DPC. It was just belt and braces. I didn't have anything at first floor level.
Drew1000
There are normally 50mm firestops fitted around the perimeter at this level. Every firestop should have DPC stapled to avoid transfer of moisture from the brick/blockwork that will form the outside walls.
