GrantMcscott
Hi My outside wall are going to be 100 mm block then 100 mm stonework tied into the block approximately half way up the building then it will change to white render. Is there any way to stop a lip where the block meets the render as the render will be thinner than the stone thanks
nod
Normally when they are half and half The block work is set in 25 mil Otherwise you would be looking up at the underside of a stop or bellcast bead

PeterW
What are you using for the render backing..? And is the stone the outer course or just decorative..?
the_r_sole
if you've got 100mm stone, with 100mm block on top, the render finish will be outside the line of the stone (it won't be thinner like you suggest) So you'll need a bellcast detail at the bottom of the render Sorry, misread the op!! ignore me! what's above the stone to carry the render? GrantMcscott
So full wall 100 mm block then bottom half 100 mm stone so the bottom half will be 200 mm thick then stop half will be 100 mm block + render so there will be a lip
the_r_sole
the render needs to go on something! Are you planning on using a carrier board? Tbh, I would put a stone cill to finish off the top of the stone and keep the lip - then it will look like you've got a thick stone wall!
