Plasterboard - Fireline or moisture resistant?

Hi Guys,

 

I'm about to plasterboard my utility room, and need some help choosing the correct plasterboard type. The drawing call for fireline plasterboard throughout, but do you think moisture resistant plasterboard would be better for a utility room?

I would be questioning why the drawing calls for fireline throughout. That is not normal. But I would want to be sure before I ignored that.

Where is fireline usually required then?

Timber frame and oil boiler.

 

There is a gas hob in the kitchen though fed from an external gas tank.

Yes, and an unvented cylinder.

The only place my drawings specified fireline was in the attached garage, as two layers with staggered joints.

Going for 60 min then in there - I would for the additional cost and also it’s good for noise.

60.. millimeters?

60 minute fire protection assuming its two layers .? If not then it is 30 minute with a single layer.

Thanks!  Fire board on a utility ceiling won’t be of any benefit Unless you are creating a fire compartment within the room

Fire door and frame also 

If there is an integral garage we often carry the utility ceiling through if it backs onto the garage But would always be two layers of 15 mil

Or if over three floors to protect a steel 

It will cost about a fiver a board to use FL So if it’s only a couple of boards it’s not worth the phone call
