Barney12 Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Hi All Really hoping for some collective advice! Like a fool I offered to look at a friends outside light as it (and I quote) "doesn't work". So of course the first thing I want to check is the bulb. But..........I can't even work out how to get the cover off I would have thought it unscrewed but it just spins round (in either direction). I don't want to rip it off and break it! any pearls of wisdom out there? Pictures of said offending light:
Triassic Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 (edited) I have one just the same and the cover just pulls off, give it a good tug! Edited December 21, 2016 by Triassic
ProDave Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Look carefully where the opal difuser joins the back plastic back. There will be a slot somewhere, usually at least two, to insert a flat screwdriver and turn to pop the front off. Put a low energy lamp in. If it's got a filament lamp, chances are the wire is overheated and brittle now.
jack Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Yep, spring-loaded clips I believe. Just be careful!
