scottishjohn Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Is this possible --someone making me offers for one of my ruins, but needs finance
Ralph Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Ecology do what looks very much like the self build mortgage but for renovations. The other issue is whether it's classed as a renovation or new build from the point of view of the VAT.
Critical Path Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 We are looking at Hanley Economic Building Society for our self build mortgage they do offer for renovations too, I would love to hear from anybody with experience of using them?
Russell griffiths Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Thinking outside the box. Can you afford to not have the money in one lump. You could in effect supply the finance to buy your own plot of you, monthly mortgage payments to you instead of a lump sum.

I could to a point could get very messy if they have other life problems ---- not even sure you could write a water tight agreement these days so you could repossess it if it all went wrong in a reasonable time . certainly could not afford to wait 20 years --I might be dead b y then
