clarification from black pipe supplier 

yes it is suitable for potable water ,but it has to be WRAS approved to connect direct to water mains

 so for a private supply it is ok 

so blue 12.5 bar to tank from meter ,then from other side of tank in  pump house  black 16 bar , its then  my own supply ,maybe change it to blue 12.5 for the last 100m --just to stop any questions when BC man sees it at house end -

doubt he will want to walk down 450ft to look at other end  anyway .LO
