Hi BuildHub'rs I'm in the latter stages of a 2 story build with a joist and osb first floor. I have installed hushpanel 28 floating soundproof on top of osb, which seems very good. Problem is, my flue comes up internally from main living space through corner of master bedroom through 400x400mm hole with heat ventillation grill, bypassing the soundproof. All is not lost, as I can box in flue in upper floor. What product/ board should I use for good acoustic performance, please?

This is just a visual update for people who are following my insulation saga. As you know, we are insulating the streetside wall with a good thick layer of cellulose-based insulation (cotton/linen/hemp). Of course I mean: insulating material, air, fireproof panel. I think this duct is for the stereo speaker cable: I didn't know one could simply remove the decorative mouldings and then reattach them, but that's what the workers have just managed to do. Does it all look good? Any comments?

In another topic re brick vs TF someone mentioned that TFs are very sensitive to noise transmission inside house (room to room), and also slamming a heavier than normal door may be an issue. From collective experience, how often does this happen? What are the ways around it? We are deciding re building method at the moment, and each one has lots of pros and cons, but for us key points to consider are: - loadbearing strength of internal walls (lots of heavy cabinets to hang) - room to room noise transmission (a family of extremely sensitive sleepers! plus a galloping cat) - wider than standard entrance door and lots of internal doors which we like shut Opinions are welcome, thank you
