  1. The Kiosk that i am fitting out by the entrance to the plot is 20 metres from the house. I am not a sparky and am struggling to understand what cable is acceptable for a 100Amp (23KVA) supply from the kiosk to the consumer unit indoors. The meter will stay out in the Kiosk. Partly because the DNO price to move it later is eye watering. Not only confused by what cable but whether i can install it in the 32mm Consuit sunk 450mm under the lawn. Any details gratefully received as always keith
  2. Not airtightness actually, although that would be a concern of course. No, the issue as i have learned is that if moisture can linger in this gap then rot can set in.
  3. I think i know the answer to this question but i dont want to chase ever decreasing gains if the risk is miniscule. So, a gap where you can see daylight is presumably in need of insulating, see picture. What about a gap of 2mm. Our kicker blocks have the Grey DPC and then sole plate on that, nothing unusual there. So there is potential for a gap both under and on top of the DPC.
  4. Kingspan ultima SIPs construction. Our frame erectors are almost finished after only 3 weeks. The membranes, numerous, are being unfolded and stapled. The basic airtightness will come from the SIPs panel but i wonder if what you can see in the picture also needs to be taped along the edges.
  5. I downloaded this today. Does it give you what you need? Look at bottom left corner. Its Survey GPS Cam from the app store.
  6. A tedious way to do it would be to edit the watermark text. So you could insert the relevant data from the Exif meta data. As i say, tedious but might get you out of a fix for now.
  7. Android or those other things, Apple ? I was wondering exactly the same for my Part L. Your post encouraged me to find out. I have an Android 4 years old A41, so not particularly new. Camera Settings, gear icon Location tags - On Watermark - on Now when i take a picture and check in gallery i can see all everything that is required for the evidence to satisfy Part L
  8. Apart from not understanding why i am responsible for taking photographs to prove the compliance to part L when i have bought a TF package from a very large supplier. Does anyone have practical experience they will share on the level of detail that satisfies the requirement please ?
  9. Agree, shipping container if you have the room. We rent one for our house contents while we are in rented for a year. £160/month for what looks like a brand new container. No condensation issues through last winter. Buying them to place onsite is not expensive. Qube containers Call us today 03301 229943
  10. Of course Nick. I'd hoped that there was already a body of knowledge within the walls of this forum that i was going to be able to Tap into.
  11. 90mm in my case but i'd have thought comparing the same size across brands would have been self explanatory.
  12. What is VL please? Ok i just read the website, understand now.
  13. Thanks Stu I think i will probably go for the Hardie then, the price difference is significant.
  14. I have had a quote for both of these brands of weatherboarding. Have always thought that i was going to use Cedral but the Hardie is quite a bit cheaper and to be honest i cannot see a difference. Does anyone have experience of either of them to know whether one is inferior to the other or any other reason why you would not go for the Hardie cladding? Thanks keith
  15. So i think i might have been mistaked about this being an Octopus rate. Not the 10.5p i think i saw but hey ho !
  16. Does anyone know if the Ubbink couplers and accessories are compatible with the Blauberg ducting. Blauberg is half the price. Alternatively, has anyone got first hand recommendation for the Blauberg kit
  17. Yep thats the kiddy. Only a couple of compliant models so far but the Vaillant Arotherm is one of them. As this is what i am fitting this is very interesting for me. Still cannot find the article though
  18. I cannot find an article i read recently, possibly on here. That said Octopus had a new tariff specifically for heat pumps with a 24/7 10.5p/hr rate. The crucial bit is that it used a direct connection to the heat pump to infer or measure the pumps electrical use and bill that seperately. Did i imagine this ?
  19. I am familiar with DOP certification in my working life. The displayed information showing compliance should be legible and enduring. I dont find the markings in the picture clear enough to read so i think i need to ask to see the paperwork that applies.
  20. Thanks, i hope so.
  21. Just checking up on a TF company. It is already in place with the walls mounted.
  22. Thanks Stu. I will. I hoped the numbers designated it in some way as 'treated'. Personally i dont think it looks like anything other that white pine internal timber. The cut ends do not look like they have and impregnation of anything.
  23. Does anyone that knows have a view on whether this timber is 'treated' timber. And by definition therefore suitable for a soleplate Many thanks in advance keith
