Plastering price per M2 labour only
Internet Know How replied to Internet Know How's topic in Landscaping, Decking & Patios
So you bring in plasterers and pay the labour element at that rate, if I understand correctly? but then you charge the customer more? -
Ok so here is the final design 4 floors, 5 manifolds. 1 floor has a 12 and 10 port manifold, and the others either a 10 or 12 port manifold. All pipes to have 150mm centres. Going for smart stats that apparently have a couple of years life in them. Maybe I should have gone with the hard wired stats like I did in the current house but anyhow, decided the smart with app control. We will have 2 boilers linked for the entire house

Hi All, I have UFH to install on my new build property, and I wanted to ask how many separate flow and returns are required to each manifold from the boiler. I'd say each to have a dedicated flow/return back to the boiler room, however what are your thoughts to reducing this down to 3 x flow/returns to all 5 manifolds? What are the drawbacks to this? Is it even recommended as it would reduce the heat up time if 2 manifolds are sharing the same flow and return? Will the UFH equipment provider agree/disagree? Setup: lower ground: 1 manifold (12 port) ground floor: 2 monifolds (5 and 10 port) First floor: 1 manifold (12 port) Second floor: 1 manifold (10 port) Thanks C

Towel radiators in Ensuite with UFH?
Internet Know How replied to Internet Know How's topic in General Plumbing
Yes all rooms will have their own thermostats and this will be zoned so if I want heating on in a bedroom, it would come on in the ensuite too -
Hi All, On a property with full floor UFH, would you install towel radiators in the ensuites? Thanks C
-
Good read that thanks
-
Well yeah but I mean you can go out there an get a quote off 4 different people for the exact same job and there can be 100% difference in the price. Also people do tend to quote much higher prices if they are quoting against a more expensive property.

Hi All, What the going day rates for plumbers in north west if you are coming in self employed on a job, and do you price a job up based on you day rate x the number of days you think are in the job. Seeing some very different ranges out there for similar jobs. Cheers C

Hi All, Know any good heating and plumbing merchants to the merseyside area? Thanks C

Hi All, What is the general labour only going rate north west uk for felt/batten/slating a roof? I know it depends on how complex it is, but generally speaking looking to understand where you would price, assuming its on a m2 basis. This would be on a roof over 200m2 Thanks C

Yes have warranty provider involved. Still same quality so I dont see why it would matter if this is all internal.
-
Yes it will be inside and not exposed to UV so should not be an issue. I can always check with building control

underground stuff seems cheaper

Hi All, Any recommendations on bringing toilet and shower waste water to ground level from a basement within residential? Thinking of either saniflow or sump pump installation in basement void below floor. This would be to support a shower room with a toilet, and a separate toilet/sink, Thanks C

Hi All, When running soil pipe internally in a new build, is it ok to use the Orange pipe which would normally be sold as an underground? I wasnt sure whether from a regs perspective there was any mandated type here Thanks C
-
So we ended up using a steel fitter recommended by our fabricator. All worked out well in the end, no major issues.

Hi All, For valleys and around chimney flashing do I go with code 4 or code 5 lead. This is for new build? I know code 5 is more expensive but it's what's right for the job end of day I guess. I wonder whether regs has a minimum code Thanks C

Internet Know How replied to Internet Know How's topic in Roofing, Tiling & Slating
Yeah the 600x300s also look good, just not sure whats best if we have the peaks and dormers....if the 500x250's are better. Either will still do I suppose and look great. Thanks Conor -
Hey all, Wondering what slate size I should go for on this build and how many slate and half should I be estimating. I had in mind 200 slate and half 235sqm roof area for slating 500 x 250 4845 600 x 300 3135 Thanks C

Basement Concrete Pour - Thoughts on this...
Internet Know How replied to Internet Know How's topic in Basements
Yes it will need something....ill cover that one when my pool guy comes back in. We will put in a separate pumping facility for this. Or it can be done manually but I will still need a fixed pipe from the tank room up to ground level. I have a 300L pump that will empty the pool in no time. Still lots to think about. -

Yeah good idea if it works! £5k is expensive isnt it. Im going to look into saniflo too as it may just do the job for the 2 toilets we have down there, and then maybe just a clean water sump pump instead to manage the shower room/sinks
