  5. Nice one looks like I’ve made a good decision, we’ve opted for the 300 tank as well. One question you mention you can cool with the ashp! I wasn’t aware of that. How cool can you set it too?

  8. Loving the blog some interesting reading! Think that’s the plan they have in mind we’ll i hope it is
  9. Open a window ? my architect hasn’t questioned any of it there’s extraction fans in kitchen/bathrooms etc. Each time I read something crops up so now guessing I best plan for this. Yes it’s additional and takes the uvalue down further sip info Kingspan TEK™ utilises Kingspan’s high performance, fibre-free rigid thermoset Urethane Insulation for the core of the SIP panels, which is autohesively* bonded and sandwiched between two sheets of oriented strand board (OSB/3).
  10. I take it the meter company will understand and pop a 3 phase meter in
  11. There was no three phase in the village only two phase that was supplied to the school, I’d never even heard of two phase
  12. Oh I wasn’t told I would need two meter ? Does that mean you have two electricity bills

I’m told we can install the fuse/isolator switch in this box which is about 10 meters away from the house then run cable to the property, we may decide to move the meter to the house once complete. not sure what they would put on the end of the cable at the house end if we didn’t move the meter! Yes It’s to supply the builders with a source during build
  14. Ouch! We’ve been told that it will run at 45, wasn’t sure if we could alter it if required

This GRP will be the permanent supply so we will just run it through straight to the houseThey were happy with the GRP install, I now need to organise a meter, do I need to earth it myself prior to meter installation?
  16. We were told only 2 phase available, we’ve requested as we have two ev’s and didn’t want to overload as we also will be installing ashp
  17. Lovely, what type of installation did you use on the slab?
  18. Perfect, is it a ashp? Are you using UFH?

  22. Thanks for all your replies, I was just getting worried
  23. We’ve just had Powergrid install the supply. Contractor said he was installing 3 phase, I was under the impression that only 2 phase was available in our village. When we ordered it was to be 2 phase. Attached photo if anyone technical understands it, I ain’t got a clue!
  24. Are you using a heat pump with this
  25. Yes we have opted for no trickle vents, aluminium with glass at uvalue of 1.1wkm, build is sips with 25 mm kingspan insulation to help reduce uvalue further.
