I’ve got 2 small walk on sky lights ( not the ones that have caused so much humour over the years ! ) only small 30cm square . Was going to install some kind of electric blind . This room will be an occasional bedroom ( mistress brings friends home ) so need to block out the light and “ viewing opportunities “ Electric blind looks like work and cost for a custom size . So was looking at this kind of thing … but cheaper !! photo just for attention https://www.akwil.com/Smart-Film-PDLC-Photovoltaic-Film-All-Colours-Available/4113-switchable-smart-glass-electrolytic-pdlc-film-custom-sizes-many-colour-options-white-black-grey-pink-green-blue-yellow-3423533966327.html?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw7-SvBhB6EiwAwYdCARQpam-OoUmqiii8RbiiqbVkxFaRoPEmRLTspiYprVOA2NNMvYnJsBoCojMQAvD_BwE

I believe in Scotland interlinked ( by whatever method ) is law . In England not so ; which imho is dumb . Though my hmos have to be .

Yeah they are mains powered with battery backup . I wish ( knew ! ) I should have put a data cable through … No chance of data cables through now - still as long as it works , sparky will be moderately happy .

Finally got round to purchasing I was annoyed that the aico RF ones are rf as long as you buy the additional rf module . Slightly misleading in my opinion . As I need 5 smoke and 1 heat that bumps the price a lot . So went with safe-tech . £350 inc vat . To save more cash ( after 11 yrs I decided I need to budget ) . I’ll wire them all in - stick a plug on the end . Pair / test the lot . Sparky at a later date will roll his eyes but just has to do a connection in the CU .

Yep mine are TG . Some years ago but was around the 25k mark

We have 2 of these similar size and weight . Company stated they would crane them in ( need to go underground so an extra complication ) . On install day they moved them by hand with a lot of manpower . I indicated how (expletive deleted)ing ridiculous it was and left them too it .

One day someone will say that to me . On that day the world will end .

I know ! But these are the ‘equivalents ‘ - could t find the real threaded ones

It’s dull . Say 25% of max . Doesn’t always do it though . I believe capacitor can be fitted at the switch . Neutral to earth ( or something like that …. )

Led bypass ; is that what’s needed ? 🤷

Ok ! Then you have my blessings with your build !

Awesome . Do you need : decoupling mats ? Mega tile cutter ? please say yes - not far from Briz … 😊

For other readers . That black square it to hide a disgusting image 😉

All done and moved the 160kg fridge freezer into place .

Got really (expletive deleted)ed off with this . All the videos - it’s real simple , no effort . Decided it was time for pliers - pulled the (expletive deleted)er apart . Tiny white clips came out with pipe . Ffs

These end caps are meant to go over the end of the filter then according to ‘easy’ videos you just push in and pipe slides out . My end caps have a thread whilst the filter doesn’t ….
-
Can’t get this out . Blue clip off easily enough . Depress what ring ? It’s solid plastic . Pipe won’t just pull out … removal tool required ??

She's Up! (Juliette that is) : but how tight should - -
