Don’t think I can convince SWMBO on another sub after my £800 purchase ( cough cough ) . But I will help you ! . Your speakers are shite , your amp is shite , your tv is shite . So yes upgrade !
-
Well ! After bits of research some AVC’s like the 3800h can activate the appropriate sub - it can take 4 - so directional !!
-
Well ! It’s one of those bs dropship companies ; I even checked I’m covered with my bank before ordering . In theory within the next 7 days
-
You will see my climax ! @-rick-
-
I understand, but you want to see the successful climax 😉

It says nearly 10,000 views !!! That can’t be right can it ???? - admin confirm !!

Pocster to Earth - are you receiving me ? Anyone there ???

Bastards about to drip !!! So it’s one ( or both ! ) of these points . It would seem static water is an issue - leaks much slower than moving water ?? So those 2 extra foam perimeters still curing are probably obsolete- but I’ll leave them . I need to foam isolate that front bit tomorrow so it doesn’t run over the block paving . I’ll pick that one as my 1st test tomorrow ( assuming no rain ) . Going to persist with that one continually ….
-
Foam expanded over the seam I want to test 🙄 Rain soon - foam will be cured by then but no good testing
-
-
I guess next is to foam isolate from the existing foam down towards this front bit and make another dam

Hmmmm . 30 mins . I top it up as it drops . But my perimeter probably isn’t 100% waterproof . Inside is damp from previous rain - but no droplets of water …. 🫤

Friday and SWMBO is out . So placed speakers properly and did calibration . All good . I have a slight permanent hearing issue caused by illness a year ago and dialogue in movies can be hard . So I boosted the centre and decided to bump the sub . Found a nice noisy scene in rebel moon . Surprised I didn’t shatter the windows ! Turned the sub down promptly! The spatial noises ( even without ceiling atmos ) are far more pronounced without being over bearing . I’m sure there’s further adjustments I can make - for now this will do !
-
Dry day . So built my perimeter . leave it a few hours then will test the outside edge to check water tight . If so will fill that little pond of mine .
-
I’m not going to ask how you found that …
-
Yeah - unlikely to be 7.1 ! . There’s usually some good stuff like that on YouTube anyway I.e hdr , atmos , Dolby vision etc . Used them to test my projector . In a darkened room the image is incredible . If only you stopped fecking about in the garden and got on with your cinema room ! - it’s far more important!!
-
I shall use that as a test . Bit of a mess at the moment - speakers in rough positions . Not calibrated yet . Furniture in the bloody way . You know what it’s like . Just wanted to get the basics going so I can then think “ it was worth it “
-
lol ! No atmos yet - still waiting on those to arrive . But just as is 7.1 it blows away my Samsung soundbar as expected ! Apart from better sound placement ; it’s the dialogue that sometimes I have to ‘strain’ to hear . Not now . SWMBO out so tried rebel moon ( never watched it ) but it’s got lots of explosions , laser shots etc with dialogue in it . So big typical cinema sound . (expletive deleted)ing awesome ( films crap , but I don’t care ) audio . Just aswell I’m detached and under ground ; neighbours be shitting by now 😊
-
Maybe . But assuming it’s those seams just a load of ct1 in there should do it yeah bro ?
-
Maybe 5 yrs . Don’t know . Less than 10 though 😊
-
4 yrs ish . I was told the felt isn’t the waterproof layer … I suspect those gaps in the felt have always been there as it’s always leaked ! SBS-modified bitumen - self healing ; the felt as I was told was not needed but added to ‘physical ‘ damage to protect the underlying layer . I guess there’s a poor joint around this gate post .
-
The latest suspect ; these seams . Too wet inside to retest . Tomorrow is rain and storms so no good either . Have expanding foam so will build a little perimeter barrier around this area then fill it up .
