You're underground what did you expect ?
Pocster replied to Pocster's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
The pit height (below ground to top) is approx 2.7m. So add another 2m on that for the winch/gantry. Max load 150kg -

Thanks . I’ve googled lap clamps - but not sure what I should be looking for .... Like I said Scaff firms expect me to tell them what I want ? -

Question! If I clamp the vertical scaff to the wall does that not mean I can't clamp to it? i.e. the clamp fitting won't be able to go around the steel tube as it's tight to the wall.... -

So this for lift straps https://www.theratchetshop.com/lifting-slings/webbing-slings/webbing-slings-below-3000kg/1000kg-webbing-sling.html?utm_source=google_shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIn4SMneX36gIVQe7tCh2S5QgDEAQYAyABEgL9JvD_BwE TBH most scaf companies aren't especially helpful. I send them drawings and dimensions and they seem to come back asking me to supply a parts list - which of course is what I want them to do.... -

You should of learn't by now that you have written too many words!. A scribble drawing would be appreciated assuming this is a different design to your other drawing? I'm getting scaffolding overload! -

No swing . My poor drawing should show the winch hook central . So yes I could just bolt a Scaf pole horizontal between 2 corner poles . -

Right ! Dithering on this ! Had some quotes - but I think I need to simplify . So ! green is the concrete wall - 3 uprights can be bolted to that orange Scaff yellow showing verticals bolted to wall This means I can lay Scaf boards across the top part as a platform so loading is easier . Winch load up a few inches - remove Scaf boards then lower down . So - wooden pallet as lift floor ( would prefer something made of metal to be honest ) . Sling straps from that to a ‘spreader’ then straps to winch -
Now I like that !!!!

Bargain then if high 20's! . now I REALLY want too see pic's

Any pics of your staircase? Just checking but you mean high 20k? ?
-
I'm not 100% convinced. But if it's cheaper than a staircase why not?. Also it will look cool - I mean a nice lift - upmarket. Just a thought at this stage...... What are the regs?. if I have a lift I assume I must have a staircase somewhere in the event of lift failure or fire. I plan to have a staircase also but it would be external. Wonder if @Onoff wants to build me one once he's finished his bathroom of course!
-
The more I think the more I like . My plan was to have an internal helical staircase which I assume will cost me a kidney . Anyone had a lift installed ? Wondering about costs .

Building on a plot with difficult access...
Pocster replied to Mulberry View's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
Hey Don’t worry always a solution . My plot has awkward access also . Obviously without seeing your plot I can only make rough suggestions . Material deliveries use a hiab . If that’s still a problem gets lots of materials delivered then crane into place . Or purchase a jack pump and move yourself . Concrete no problem . Use on a craned hose can reach 50 metres or more . Pumped in no issue . Have you got a site plan ? Easier to see your specific issues . Necessity is the mother of invention... ? -

I know your going to have everything in because I am . I do recommend a nas for storage and nvr . Also raspberry pi with max2play for audio everywhere . Very cheap and very reliable. So what’s the actual hub ? I.e central to controlling all the HA ? . Access via phone but what about wall mounted tablets ? . Just wondering..... -

Also I did have a temporary set of wooden steps outside . They eventually rotted away .Fine for me going up and down but with large quantities of materials and ultimately large home appliances I need a new method . -

Because other works have to be done before a staircase can go in . Anyway I still want a lift for the tons of materials not up / down a staircase. -

It’s not crap . It’s work in progress . You can’t limit and stem creative juices . They must be allowed to flow unrestricted. -

Of course there is ! . Frameless glass balustrade Also eventually there will be a straight metal staircase to go from the pit up to the garden . ” I have a vision “ ” I don’t have the skill nor cash “ ? -

Pocster replied to Pocster's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
Yes. Think also big american fridge freezer. So it's not just about getting materials up/down otherwise I would just use a simple winch and gantry. I reckon - I can build something than I can dismantle and then ( as others have said and indeed I have already thought of ) with the freezer etc. breaks down and needs to be replaced I have a easy setup lift to utilise. Waining on @Onoff 's contact to get back to me. -
