Yes it is closed Marvin, always has been...unless I use it to top up of course!
-
Hi Marvin thanks for this knowledge. When I top up it is very quick, probably no more than 5 seconds. This morning I went in and the air circulating around the flow pump was very noisy.

Thnaks Temp, I'll try out the plastic bag ides...

Thanks Nick I'll start isolating one at a time. There is no evidence of a leak. I will isolate the dirty water loop first.

I hope the photo previously sent has all these questions answered Nick? The PRV has recently been replaced.

Has anyone any thoughts on the expansion vessel that is hollow at the bottom and solid sounding at the top?
-
Many thanks for your comments. I'm trying to organise for them to return so the more information I can glean the better!

Hi no we only have the underfloor loops.
-
There is nothing obvious to say I have a leak but I have solid screed floors.

The system is 16 months old. The system has automatic bleed valves and I have never seen them use a hose....

Hello I wonder if I could ask for help with regard to my UFH system. I have a NIBE ASHP supplying my UFH and hot water. I have a lot of air in the system (very audible as it passes through the pump) and despite the fitters coming back on several occasions it has not been cured. Added to this my expansion vessel keeps returning to zero pressure and I have to top it up almost on a daily basis. When I tap the red expansion tank it hs a hollow sound at the bottom and a dull sound at the top. My limited knowledge makes me think it should be the other way around with liquid at the bottom and air at the top? One final thing is that one of the loops is showing dirty water in the manifold flow glass, all the others are clean. is there an issue here too? Any help would be appreciated as my installer is not curing the problem and possibly fobbing me off!

Hi Thanks for the very interesting posts with regard to DIY Kitchens. We haven't placed our order yet but a visit to the showroom proved a very positive experience. As mentioned in one of the posts there are many manufacturers with a similar quality base. would Howdens be included in this group and has anybody purchased recently from them? I was wondering on their customer service attitude and of course price!

yes I will be interested to see your comments in 2/3 months, as I want put this down in our entrance hall.

Excellent stuff thank you all. The site is in Shropshire. I'll get measuring and reading. yes saw this Peter. If you imagine a square I am intending to take out opposite ends for access and leave the rest as is which should result in a fairly airtight building. ok I'll take a look. Hi Declan no gas it's very rural! I'm imagining all electric utilising ASHP...hence the request fo knowledge.
