  1. It is buzzword bingo, just select the ones that apply to the property and how you are dealing with it. Or just read: https://www.hse.gov.uk/construction/safetytopics/demolition.htm
  2. Please change where needed. Mechanical Demolition Equipment: Demolition will be carried out using suitable heavy machinery, including a tracked excavator equipped with a hydraulic demolition hammer and/or grapple attachment. Additional equipment such as skid steer loaders may be used for material handling. Technique: The demolition method will follow a top-down approach to maintain structural stability. Load-bearing elements will be systematically dismantled starting from the roof, progressing down to the ground floor. The structure will be taken down in sections to maintain control and reduce the risk of sudden collapse. Control Measures: Temporary supports (e.g., props or bracing) will be installed as required to stabilize remaining structures during phased demolition. Safety barriers and fencing will be placed around the demolition perimeter to restrict access. Structural assessments will be conducted prior to and during demolition to ensure the safety of adjacent buildings. A spotter or supervisor will monitor the site continuously for signs of instability. Debris Management Debris Zones: Designated debris stockpiling zones will be located within the site boundary, away from the demolition edge and access routes. These zones will be clearly marked and kept organized to facilitate safe material handling. Removal: Debris will be loaded using mechanical equipment into covered or enclosed vehicles to minimize dust and material loss during transport. Dust suppression methods, such as water spraying, will be employed during loading. All waste will be taken to an approved disposal or recycling facility in accordance with environmental regulations. Safety Procedures Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): All personnel must wear the following PPE: Hard hats Safety glasses or face shields High-visibility vests/clothing Steel-toe boots Cut-resistant gloves Hearing protection (when working near noise-emitting equipment) Training: All workers will be trained and certified in: Safe demolition practices Use and maintenance of demolition equipment Site-specific health and safety procedures Toolbox talks will be conducted daily before work begins. Emergency Procedures: Emergency plans will be clearly communicated and include: First aid stations and trained responders on-site Fire extinguishers placed in accessible locations Evacuation routes marked and kept clear An incident reporting system for near-misses or hazards Exclusion Zones: Exclusion zones will be set up around active demolition areas, clearly marked with signage and physical barriers. Only authorized personnel may enter these zones. Hard-Hat Areas: The entire demolition site will be designated as a hard-hat area, with visible signs posted at entry points and reinforced during site inductions. Noise Control: Noise levels will be managed through: Use of sound-absorbing barriers where needed Limiting high-noise operations to daytime hours Ensuring all personnel in high-noise zones wear hearing protection Equipment maintenance to minimize mechanical noise output
  3. Can’t edit the post now Nudura and polysteel is per block, you are correct. Rest are per sqm Waiting on thermohouse as they do roof and floor as well. BECO WALLFORM 313 Wallblock 1125 long (EPS bridges) per sq.m: £58.00 + VAT AMVIC: 350mm ICF blocks c/w insulated closers per sq.m @ £ 45.00 + vat POLYSTEEL: 280S 92 units @ £ 44.00 + VAT NUDURA 1: £72.50 per XR-35 unit (c1.11 sqm) NUDURA 2: £89.25 per XR-35 unit (c1.11 sqm) So the nudura suppliers offer a lot of support, setting out, on site when concrete comes, checking etc. Haven't got responses yet from everybody, still waiting on what they do after you bought the materials. Will see how the Irish ones provide support in UK.
  4. Some of the prices I got back. All are exclusive of vat and per unit. Nudura 1 : £72.50 nudura 2: £89.25 polysteel: £44 does not meet u-values Beco: £58 amvic: £45 Asked a third nudura distributor but they seem to be split into regions and looks like refusing to quote. Amvic has a delivery charge of 955+ vat which is a bit extreme. On top comes all the hire of equipment for bracing.
  5. Would you be ok to share this supplier please ? Seems a good price. I had a quote for nearly £100 per sqm
  6. I was directed to this site from contacting Neuffer. good old onward opening European windows.
  7. How about putting your cladding on this? https://ewistore.co.uk/shop/external-wall-insulation/a1-easyboard-score-snap-render-carrier-board-2400-x-1200-x-12-5mm/
  8. Get someone to look at it. I wouldn’t touch it.
  9. I would say that your council website is the answer. Policies, plans and various documents usually under planning and building control.
  10. Thanks, we will be talking to SE. house is not wide enough for 4.5m opening and everything else. 😂 Sadly, we can’t have corner window as on the side there is only a fence to look at. Maybe next time in another house.
  11. thanks very much. In my view 3 meters sliding door is not too much Just have been asked the question why icf and a comment was made on window sizes.
  12. Thanks very much. is that a sliding door you have there? Looks great.
  13. We are just getting our plans drawn up for an icf extension and question came up around window sizes. Planning to have a 1.5mx1.5m window for a window seat and a 3 meter sliding door. The rest I would say normal window sizes, meeting any regs that required. Are there any restrictions in terms of size when you use icf? Or can you go crazy ? Anything to look out for when designing and installing windows in to icf? If you have large windows could you post dimensions please.
  14. I would start here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/permitted-development-rights-for-householders-technical-guidance If its close to boundary, some restrictions will apply. Outbuildings or sheds larger than 30 sq m, will require building regs. If in doubt check with your Building Control.
  15. Hi Claire, As in to enerphit standard which is just below passive house? For the every day person it will be so expensive they will not do it.
