  1. Is that including base coat, mesh etc? Roughly how many m2 is a double garage?
  2. No, it's just block we will need the base coat, mesh etc
  3. Hi We are about to get some quotes for rendering (silicone render TC15 Krend or similar) our double garage. Can anyone tell me what sort of price I should be looking at please. They will be supplying materials too. It's just a block garage, no external insulation. Thanks
  4. My 2004 C2 is going to car heaven this year as it won't pass another MoT and my dad has welded it that many times its beyond help now. I have a nice cheap 2015 Fiat 500 Sport waiting for the builder to finish the drive before it comes home. I'm quite excited about getting aircon and electric windows!
  5. That's my technical level! Texting or ringing the gate - I'd have to be about half a mile away for a signal or somewhere down on the towpath, I'd rather just open it when I'm literally at the gate! We plan to get an additional 3 fobs so will have 5 in total. I just needed to understand exactly what we did and didn't need from their suggestion but I think I'll just order the main kit without the extras.....
  6. Not an issue we live down a private lane only going to farm fields and one other house. Easy to pull over.
  7. If you want a 5% discount with Ideal Garden this is the code they gave me idealfive
  8. So we were about to order with Gate Gate and then they suggested lots of extras... I'm clarifying why we need an additional additional set of safety beams and posts when thr kit comes with safety beams. Perhaps they are being over cautious. We want additional transmitters which is fine (they do a pack of 3 for £60 which seems.decent given my tendency for losing things or keys going in the wash). Not sure we need a magnetic lock either. I know these are useful to stop people forcing the gates but we have a pedestrian gate too. So I don't think the extras are needed. I presume the magnetic lock, relay and power supply is for the extras.....
  9. It was Ideal Garden and they offered some Blue Light Discount too. They took back the 2 boxes of unopened ones and they said we could keep the 2 boxes we had opened which were damaged (sent in proof).
  10. Exactly - just not sure if I'm missing something but Gates Gates have been great at communicating so far and answered all my stupid questions!
  11. We were going to use Core Edge for a gravel path. The anthracite RAL7016 stuff arrived and out of the 4 boxes the two boxes we opened were all damaged (scratches on top edge, paint worn off, dents etc). In the end they collected the two unopened boxes and left us the 2 we had opened to dispose of. We have messed around with thr damaged pieces to see if we can make use of it where it isn't really seen but haven't used it. For curves I think it works better than for straight edges and the corten may be better than the powder coated ral stuff. In the end we used sleepers which was far cheaper and seemed to work better with our straight edges (there are some plants and grasses planted within the path).
  12. Gates Gates came back to me thanks @nod I sent some videos and pictures to them with a link to the gates we have purchased (never use Charles and Ivy 10 - week 9 and delivery has been a farce so far resulting in me opening a credit card dispute for lack of goods which finally got their attention)! Gates Gates recommended this https://www.gatesgates.co.uk/modus-xllt-double-gate-kit-c2x13642999 Meanwhile Easy Gates recommended this which is far more expensive with features I don't think we will need (smartphone operation given we have no phone signal or WiFi outside the house near the gates). https://www.easygates.co.uk/product/liftmaster-aa250evk-double-swing-gate-opener-kit-myq-compatible/ There is quite a big price difference but I can't really see that if the more expensive one is necessary. Both Easy Gates and Gates Gates have been great at answering questions. Anyone got any thoughts on the different kits? Ta
  13. Hahaha 😆 I know.... I didn't actually take any career in HR...
  14. @nod do you have the gates gates contact details. Google is coming up with a few suggestions.
  15. Crikey that's more expensive (£5000) than the actual driveway gates and pedestrian gate.... was that for just getting the parts for automation and fitting them? The electrics is all there it's just getting the kit and getting them fitted.
  16. Nope prison service 🤣 have done HR qualifications though so I know the lingo 😏
  17. Thanks I'll also message Easy Gates.
  18. Thanks The builder has done it before but we have also reached out to a firm that apparently can supply and fit (automation) but they haven't come back yet. No keypad or intercom purely because any wifi communication is non existent (the tests with various boosters and extenders failed miserably), our broadband is so weak, we have no mobile signal and even wireless technology is a a bit hit and miss although we have found placing numerous tek wireless doorbells around the house and one in the garage near the gate seems to just about work and anyone who presses the doorbell on the gate posts results in it ringing with slight delays in the house and all at different points! The foil insulation in the house and the fact it's a large bungalow means we struggle to get consistent signal on wireless too as depending on which room we are in means there are so many walls for signals to pass through!
  19. Thanks, silly question but do the gates automatically close? I thought you'd have to press the fob to open them and again to close them rather than the gates just determining when they should close? So it sounds like we need one in the centre then. Are the two gate stop posts necessary then? We have just had outdoor lights fitted on the brick gate posts and nearby garage so lighting isn't an issue to be honest.
  20. Me again . . . Almost 8 weeks and our gates are coming on Saturday after I had to raise a credit card dispute with Charles and Ivy for not providing the goods with Charles and Ivy to get our gates. After two weeks of non communication when I sent screen shots of the dispute and surprisingly less than an hour later I got a phone call to arrange delivery! I contacted this company @joe90 mentioned for a quote for automation and they haven't come back yet. Thr other option is to buy a kit online and get the builder to quote for fitting. I'm confused as to what we need. This company recommended the kit below but then other things (in blue) like photocells, door loops and safety edges and I'm not sure whether we need them or not! https://www.theelectricgateshop.co.uk/Roger-Technology-BE20-210-24v-BRUSHLESS-Electric-Gate-Kit-Double Another company recommended the 4ti which comes with blinker lights and photocells and the blurb also says we need gate stops too although we are on slight a slope into the drive so I'm not sure how effective they will be (not sure the stops are high enough). Do we need gate stops? I'm completely confused if we need all the extra stuff and if we need everything in these kits. Can anyone advise? Our total gate opening is 3900 and doors will open inwards. We have brick posts and the electric is all there ready for the gates. We are not having any intercom, video etc due to shocking Internet even on ethernet, wifi etc
  21. We did have Luxaflex up/down blind in our office. It's not that fabric though....
  22. Success, tv and poweline work! I can't be blamed for this mistake as I wasn't let near it after I broke the ethernet socket module by shoving the cable in upside down with force 🫢 My argument is that we wouldn't need a splitter or poweline/extender if it wasn't for the other half being insistent on a camera doorbell on the gate so all of this could have been avoided if we just had a normal doorbell.....
  23. Doh, we just realised we needed power 🤦‍♀️ Need to find a plug now as they only supplied the USB cable....
  24. We need two ethernet sockets and got this splitter from Amazon. We can't get it to work. The TV will work directly connected to the ethernet Socket and separately the powerline connects to the Ethernet but when we try and use the splitter we can't get either to connect via ethernet. I've even bought another thinking it was faulty and same issue. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong please? Clearly the main socket works fine but something isn't working when we use the splitter for two ethernet sockets.
