Cpd 758 Posted March 8, 2022 Yes I much prefer OSB behind the plaster board as well, it’s an extravagance but I still do it……. 1 Link to comment
saveasteading 2359 Posted March 9, 2022 We took to doing it as standard in some new school buildings. Always offered to the client as an option, which some welcomed and some declined. It wasn't really for vandalism, just big teenagers jostling and the urge of kids to excavate into any small hole that has begun to form. For my own home? I wouldn't bother. 1 Link to comment
saveasteading 2359 Posted June 29, 2022 We are using 9mm everywhere it is needed. Feels totally solid and adequate. Link to comment

I was thinking of using 12mm but it's good to know that 9mm is sufficient. on @Patrick's blog it really looks quite chunky! it's why I thought it might be 18mm. although I am going to put 18mm OSB on the kitchen and utility room walls where the cabinets will be hung. should be thick enough to hold the units up. I didn't want to change sizes in different rooms. Thought for the sake of 500£ might as well do all in 18mm ... At least I can hang whatever the f... I want with a few woodscrews without having to overthink it . Building the house for longevity. That's my 1.st aim . 1 Link to comment
