Shower traps

I have purchased a RAK Feelings stone resin shower tray and they recommend a RAK feeling Slimline 90mm Shower waste which is £50.

 

I have full access to the shower tray trap from the utility room below so is this expensive trap really necessary?

We replaced the traps that came with each of our trays with a Mcalpine traps Though we have no access 

I think they are about 50 quid

Lowcostheatingsupplies.co.uk have it at £28 so shop around. It’s a Geberit waste for use with RAK feelings shower tray.

 

I have only ever fitted two shower trays and just used a low profile waste from my local merchants so the line above is the first result from    A google search?

Believe it or not but they add a charge of £25 shipping?, I contacted them to ask why the shipping was so much and they said the manufacturer enforces it...pah
