Building the dream : one lesson at a time.

Recommended Posts

That cliche grates more than most. Almost as much as this morning's lesson.

I'd put in a temporary first floor - made from OSB. And laying the proper chipboard meant that I had to take the OSB up first.

The lesson?

Never underestimate how well OSB  hides screw-heads. What's your building lesson?

I was thinking of this as an issue. How about this.

Anyone ever seen a lightning strap? Basically a perforated strip of metal. HOw about that or something like it which could be used to lay along the line which you are screwing through. Whether the screws are collared into that strap or seperate, you'd never loose the head again. If they were collared you could use it again somewhere else as a temporary strapping device.

Booooommmmm (that's the sound of my genius)
