I’m in bed Ill, so I’m bored

for anybody who has recently received planning or thinks it may come soon, get all those trees and hedges removed before bird nesting season starts

if you don’t get them out before March you could be looking at long delays or expensive ecology survey to prove no nesting birds are present.

Poor you!  hope you are up and better soon - good advice - I need to remove some ivy from the garden and I keep thinking that I aught to do it before they start nesting.  Will try to get on with it soon.?

We had loads of ivy to remove and found the best way to remove was to cut a section out near the bottom right the way across and leave for a few months. This way seemed to let it die back and release itself from the wall and came away in quite satisfyingly large chunks as opposed to fighting it when it was still green. Plus you could then start a fire on the day you pull it from the wall and it burned really well without creating a lot of smoke.
