Aerated Concrete in ICF

could one use foamed/aerated concrete in an icf build. What i mean is that given it is supposed to have better thermal properties, would it A; add any thermal benefits and b; be strong enough?

Not in Durisol.

I know because I asked the rep. But I think his response might we'll have been instinctive and  based on concerns about strength.  The concrete design for the ICF will have referred to normal (whatever that is) mixes.

If you use concrete of a different design or mix , you would need to be sure that ICF company signs off the idea.

Remember one of the benefits of ICF you cast all your lintels as icf. Think this is where the strength comes in.

I can’t see what for to be honest, the two skins of insulation in the ICF block provide the insulation. 

If you want a higher level of thermal performance you can just increase the thickness of insulation the block is made from. 

Or add additional insulation to the face of the blocks once built.
