TradePoint Discounts Scheme

Recommended Posts

I’ve never been a fan of TradePoint as their prices weren’t Trade Prices. I’m even less keen now following this recent email...

WHATS CHANGING?
From 1 October, instead of receiving trade prices on individual products you’ll be eligible to receive flat rate discounts when you spend and swipe your TradePoint membership card, as follows*:

■ Spend £250 in a month and you’ll receive 5% discount off your products until the end of the following month
■ Spend £1,000 in a month and you’ll receive 10% discount off your products until the end of the following month

These changes will help make our low prices even lower for loyal members.

EXAMPLE
■ Spend £250 in October, 5% discount activated until 30 November;
■ Spend £1,000 in November, 10% discount activated until 31 December;
■ Spend less than £250 in December, discounts will be removed on 31 December or spend £250 in December and discount is reset at 5% for January or spend £1000 in December to retain 10% discount until 31 January.

Just had my new card and not impressed either ..! Was also annoyed that they have started hiding their multi buy discounts that actually make things worth buying. Will be interested to see if trade does stay with them as they need to keep up with TS and Wickes.

Only real reason I keep going back is that I can get sheet material cut down for free ..!!

Very rarely use them even if they are just 1 mile from build. When I do use them and they swipe the trade card I just see it as s bonus if I get a discount now.

I have noticed their online is more competitive than in store, recently I was looking for 6 inch hand clamps they had a good range online (irwin etc) and priced to match other big online suppliers but when I went into local branch it was no branded double the price crap they where selling. Also they where cheapest in UK (I could find) for spax floor screws online ....strange.

I had cases when the item on the B&Q website is at a lower cost than the TradePoint website also I have used my TradePoint card when buying in store and it has not applied any discount.

I just don't bother using them anymore.
