ProDave
I have a gas hob, currently set up for mains gas. I need to convert it for LPG. The supplier has just told me no such conversion kit is available. So I have to do it the hard way, work out from the existing jets what sizes the new ones need to be. So the 4 jets currently in the hob are stamped 103, 103, 115 and 72 Anyone know how to calculate what sizes I need? Or do I just take a punt and buy this kit and just try it? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LPG-Gas-Jet-Set-4-Burner-Cooker-Hob-Calor-Propane-Nozzle-Conversion-Kit-NEW/222794793274?hash=item33df9ac13a:g:vh8AAOSwp7FaWkSm
Temp
This explains what the numbers mean but i think you need to look up the numbers your appliance needs for lpg. https://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/How-to-choose-Jet-Nozzle-for-your-gas-appliance-/10000000202400690/g.html There is a post here... https://www.navitron.org.uk/forum/index.php?topic=19031.0 That says the number for lpg should be 65-70% of that for natural gas. Temp
Perhaps worth pointing out that if you get it wrong your hob might produce a lot of carbon monoxide.
joe90
I have just had my rangemaster converted but I have no ideas about numbers, perhaps message the Ebay seller for confirmation that the jets are for your cooker?

You can tell a lot from the flame colour, if it burns with a yellow flame I would be worried. And there will be a CO alarm not far away

The jets in the Polish ebay kit are in the range 65-70% so I think I will proceed and buy that.
ProDave
Just to finish this off, I fitted the new jets today. Here's what I ended up with: Mains jet size LPG jet aize 103 67 103 66 115 86 72 50 I had bought a pack of 6 jets which gave me a few more options to play with. All seems to be working fine. 1
Temp
Jolly good. If your hob is on cylinders I think you will be surprised how little gas a hob uses. Ours gets a lot of use and a 47kg cylinder lasts at least 18 months.
