StructuralEngineer Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 We're getting a new bath with shower over, and the builder says we should get a decent bath that will take the weight of someone standing in it -- not something cheap and flexible. Seems to make sense. Does anyone have suggestions for a decent brand to look out for?
Temp Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 I would also look for one that has a relatively flat bottom. Some are quite curved which can make them dangerous to stand in. 1
Guest Alphonsox Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 We had the same concerns when we fitted the bath in our current place. We fitted a "Trojan Cast" bath - basically a reinforced acrylic construction. It's extremely solid and has no movement even when "larger" members of the family use it. Definitely recommended https://trojan-baths.co.uk/trojan-cast/
bassanclan Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Steel with anti slip? kaldewei amongst others 1
PeterW Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 +1 for Trojan - have just specified one of those and it’s very heavy and the base is heavy encapsulated GRP and the acrylic layer is very thick. Wasn’t too expensive either. 1
StructuralEngineer Posted April 11, 2018 Author Posted April 11, 2018 Thanks all. I'll take a look at Trojan and Kaldewei.
