StructuralEngineer
We're getting a new bath with shower over, and the builder says we should get a decent bath that will take the weight of someone standing in it -- not something cheap and flexible. Seems to make sense. Does anyone have suggestions for a decent brand to look out for?
Temp
I would also look for one that has a relatively flat bottom. Some are quite curved which can make them dangerous to stand in.
Guest Alphonsox
We had the same concerns when we fitted the bath in our current place. We fitted a "Trojan Cast" bath - basically a reinforced acrylic construction. It's extremely solid and has no movement even when "larger" members of the family use it. Definitely recommended https://trojan-baths.co.uk/trojan-cast/

PeterW
+1 for Trojan - have just specified one of those and it’s very heavy and the base is heavy encapsulated GRP and the acrylic layer is very thick. Wasn’t too expensive either.
StructuralEngineer
Thanks all. I'll take a look at Trojan and Kaldewei.
