Crofter Posted Thursday at 11:48 Posted Thursday at 11:48 My new Aluplast sliding door came with a box full of these. No instructions and the pdf I've found online doesn't really help. I was just planning on screwing through the frame prior to fitting the glazed units, but thought I'd check in case I was missing out by not using these.
markc Posted Thursday at 12:05 Posted Thursday at 12:05 Fixing straps, fix to frame and extend inwards so you can fix without going through the frame. 1, no holes through frame and 2, the frame can “float” a bit rather than pulling it tight to masonry etc. 1

The steel strap should be put in the slot so it is parallel with the edge of the frame and then turned through ninety degrees so that the two protruding lugs lock into the slot in the frame. 2
craig Posted yesterday at 14:45 Posted yesterday at 14:45 (edited) Fixing straps, those two clips insert on grooves around the frame. Then you effectively twist them into place and then put a screw through the screw hole (self tapper, as you will be going into the steel reinforcement). They are 100mm length and you may not have enough length, additional option is to go through the frame into the structure. If you need anymore, I have about a thousand of them here (100mm) and I have 200mm, approx. 20 of them. Edited yesterday at 14:45 by craig
