slystallone Posted December 17 Posted December 17 (edited) Is anyone familiar with this types of shower rail brackets for holding the rail upon which the shower head holder slides up and down on and how to remove these? I could just get a drill I guess to get at the screw underneath, however as can be seen below there is a hole of some sort, which appears not to have a screw head that I can see and maybe it can be removed in an easier way then just drilling through it.Any advice would be greatly appreciated Edited December 17 by slystallone
Nickfromwales Posted December 18 Posted December 18 Allen key may be the way, as some are held on by grub screws. 1

FuerteStu Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago With old (and possibly rusty) Allen key grub screws, a flat head screwdriver about the same size and a few gentle taps with a hammer force it in so it can be undone
Onoff Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago A last resort is to hammer a small Torx screwdriver bit into the seized/rounded off hex of the grub screw. I've found a lot of those screws to made of very soft, Chinesium monkey metal.
Nickfromwales Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Replacement riser rail kits are cheap enough, and if you buy one that's too long, you can cut the pole down to match the screw holes in the tiles. Done this a hundred times or more in rentals etc.
