Lincolnshire Ian Posted yesterday at 07:10 Posted yesterday at 07:10 Hi When our timber frame is erected we will have an ugly galvanised post holding up the corner of the porch. We are planning to match the house brick plinth height on the post, but how can we clad the post to make it look a bit more elegant. For context the house will be white rendered with composite cladding. Thanks
JohnMo Posted yesterday at 07:23 Posted yesterday at 07:23 Images help, if you could add that would be great. Also does this steel post act as a thermal bridge?
Redbeard Posted yesterday at 07:29 Posted yesterday at 07:29 Yes, section dwgs wd be great. Could the post perhaps sit on compacfoam at btm and have a further chunk of said compacfoam at the top? If you know what 'look' you want, why not simply have the post made with the necessary 'tangs' to which to mount your cladding/expanded metal/what you will?
Lincolnshire Ian Posted yesterday at 07:51 Author Posted yesterday at 07:51 This is the post, next to the front door. The house will be 70% white render with 30% composite cladding.
MikeSharp01 Posted yesterday at 08:57 Posted yesterday at 08:57 Just Paint the post the same colour as the render. 1
