Pocster Posted yesterday at 13:09 Posted yesterday at 13:09 A few weeks ago I noticed my IT cupboard getting rather warm . So logically thought I’d be installing a fan in there and maybe a Shelly and zigbee temp sensor . Not a fan of Shelly based on my experience. Anyway link it all up to HA , easy !! Then I can across this - which I got on eBay for £17 . Chatgpt suggested this device which I’ve not heard of before ; inkbird ( funny name for a temp control unit ) It’s awesome ! . Dual plug outlets so one for a heating device and one for cooling . Temp sensor on a long flex . I think my expectation was “ typical Chinese shite “ - but it’s a cheaper solution not relying on HA . I use to trigger my fan 1
SteamyTea Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago What load can each individual outlet take? Is the total constant load 10A?
joth Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago (edited) You paid over the odds! £6.99 for a fan controller, and use any old PC fan. This is what I did for cooling my multi zone amp. Potentially* could power from the amp* 12v trigger output, even https://amzn.eu/d/9cjSv9L (I actually bought a nicer quiet noctura fan and nicked 12V from a nearby led PSU) I think I have a similar looking inkbird thing for the BBQ and smoker temperature controller. But yeah I'm a big fan* of stand alone cooling for devices. No need to wire it to the house brain. (Unless it's super noisy in which case a nighttime quiet mode maybe in order. ) * - no puns intended. Edited 23 hours ago by joth 1

dpmiller Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I've used Inkbird DIN-rail controllers a few times and they're good kit. 1
