Post and beam Posted Thursday at 18:08 Posted Thursday at 18:08 Hi All My chosen unit that i am now ready to place an order for is the Brink Flair 400. I intended to order it from Ventilation land but have only just read this line in their decription 'is a Dutch device and can therefore only be set in Dutch.' Does anyone know how to overcome this language restriction please. For context i asked CVC systems for a price which came out at £1000 more. Thats a lot just to get an english display and i am sure there is a setting or dip switch to make it useful. Even the durch dont speak dutch after all!
Nickfromwales Posted Saturday at 15:47 Posted Saturday at 15:47 @Post and beam I enquired, and got this back, FYI.
jfb Posted Saturday at 17:31 Posted Saturday at 17:31 How much setting does it actually need? I have a brink where the manual is in multiple languages so you could easily (?) cross reference the instructions to get the desired result. mayne best to check the manual is in English as well.
Nickfromwales Posted Saturday at 18:47 Posted Saturday at 18:47 @Post and beam You may not be aware that you’ll struggle (or may not get at all) any UK support with an import unit. I think the way you’re buying would require a full return to base for repairs or replacement, whereas if bought in the UK by a recognised/supported supplier you’ll get on site support. Just a heads up of why these are cheaper, and also some don’t arrive with controls so you have to buy on top. So “beware”

If you find out, pleease post here. I bought one from ventillationland, and the firmware / deep settings web server page is in Dutch. It's a bt inconvient as I had to use google translate, but once you have had an initial fiddle, it doesn't really need touching again. It also does not have a front control panel, you have to control it by the app (in English) or a 4 way rotary switch to change the flow rate. Most would probably fit these where it would be inconvient to use the front control panel anyway. Mine has been running flawlessly for a few years now, the humidity sensor ups the flow rate if it thinks it need to, I just change the filters now and again. If it packs up I'll either try and repair it myself or buy another. I realise the lack of support is a downside, but I only have to answer to myself, not a paying customer. I suppose the language thing must just be a different firmware file, and there is a usb socket presumably for updating. The CVC one seems the better deal, especially if it is legit. Perhaps also consider the plus version, I can't remember the difference but at the time I thought it was worth buying. Edited Saturday at 19:12 by trialuser

No response yet. I realised they are CVC which is really odd because the price differential between them is enormous. I would order from Air-Haus immediatley if they respond to me and confirm a few things.

Post and beam Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago Ordered a unit from Air Haus this morning. Cannot see the need for separate attenuators when using the Ubbink distribution box's but was strongly advised to do so. So have ordered these as well.
