lord mud of the flyes Posted June 14 Author Posted June 14 I got quoted for 13' scafolding boards, 10 quid each plus 15 delivery. Dose that sound OK to you?
lord mud of the flyes Posted Saturday at 17:00 Author Posted Saturday at 17:00 (edited) So I bough 5x 13' scafolding boards (well they where 2" short of the 13' that they claimed!) Removed the metal platting on the ends Lined 3 up in a row at the front of the 12' long bar Cut 1 board into 3 pieces and placed it up at one of the corners of the bar So how can I join them together? I want to join them together and then dismantle and reassemble them as its a pop up bar. Is the "Biscuit Machine" no good for this, is the Biscuit Machine a perminent fixture? Some one surgested joining them with a place of metal underneigh, but not sure how this will work! Do you think coach bolts bolted to the frame will show up? The boards are new, do you think they need sanding or should I just paint them with the same stuff as the sides of the bar (Rustins stain, dark oak) Should I burn them first before painting? Onoff Posted Saturday at 17:05 Posted Saturday at 17:05 You could counter bore the tops a little and use coach bolts that would sit flush. Or just woodscrew through to a bit of timber running perpendicular and unscrew to dismantle.

Would wood screws not show up and damage the threads that they have made in the wood from constant screwing and unscrewing?

Depends how tight you do them up. You could use screw cups or as you said earlier, coach bolts. Do you really want to dismantle it into seperate boards?
