Still waiting on a quote for an oak strip wood soffit for an overhang.

Still in two minds about the problem of oak and timber ageing to a grey colour from UV light after a year or two. Therefore also wanting to look at manmade wood effect alternatives that will not change colour and be low maintenance.

Any suggestions/suppliers ? Has anyone on here done something similar ?

(Slightly wonder if LVT click style planks could be used ?)

I’m just about to build an oak canopy over the front door

Staining and going grey is a real problem

Osmo UV doesn’t do what it says on the tin

Im looking for alternatives

I did all our sofits and facias in a would effect Don’t fancy being up a ladder each year

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen oak oudoors, not silver  unless regularly treated. Lame goes for larch. And bothe look pretty similar in the end. As a soffit it might well be that as it’s not exposed to uv or weather, it may last a good while.

I fitted this (not in wood finish) and the colour 5 years later is still good a strong when exposed to full daylight on a facade… pretty much 0 maintenance.
