LiamJones Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Hi, I’ve got 65m2 of 15mm limestone 600mm x FL, mostly 800mm some 700 and 900mm lengths. I’ve also got 50m2 of 12mm marble 300x600mm. dont need any mitres. I’m preferring the Rubi TC-125 at the minute. Although have looked at the DU-200 850. Have also seen people say just use a hand grinder. don’t wanna spend loads, but if £500 of kit makes 115m2 of tiling easier, I think I’ll go for it.
nod Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Just use an angle grinder with a specific blade Ive a couple of no dust cutters at my yard But no one ever uses them Most prefer a 4” angle grinder The blades are that good now 1
LiamJones Posted April 10 Author Posted April 10 Thanks @nodany recommendation on blade for limestone + marble? Also what about cuts that will be on show and not under a skirting board? I.e the wall/cieling junction? Any tips/tricks for getting dead straight cut?

Cut along a straight edge, normally aluminium. 1
nod Posted April 10 Posted April 10 I buy boxes full of these Anything on show We use Irwin clamps and a 2 mil thick strip of steel
LiamJones Posted April 10 Author Posted April 10 (edited) Nice idea with the steel/ali, will gives it a go. Boxes full of what, sorry @nod? Edited April 10 by LiamJones
JamesP Posted April 10 Posted April 10 As @nod & @Russell griffiths recommend, having fitted porcelain and limestone at home I use a 115mm diamond blade on the angle grinder. Steel straight edge, clamps and PPE.
LiamJones Posted April 10 Author Posted April 10 Is it just a case of going to a fabricators and grabbing a slither of steel they’ve got laying about? Or do I go and buy a “steel straight edge” from somewhere 🤣
nod Posted April 10 Posted April 10 I’m doing the tiling on a self build He’s spending 120k on tiling Lots of curved walls As normal all the floors tiled after the walls I’m only using a grinder to cut all of these
