ricardo100671 Posted April 8 Posted April 8 My 'Plumber' (turns out is a dip sh$%t), did not do a pressure test on my bedroom rad runs before laying communal areas underfloor heating over it ! After insisting this be done, we have found a leak, 3 bar loss over a day. All loops are pex and run to outside manifold, so can address each line individually. is there any solution, other than ripping up the floor ? Was thinking leak stop solvents but womnder if anyone has had experience with it being a permanent fix. Or, maybe, even snaking a microbore bore through the damaged pipe and running that rad off that.
Nickfromwales Posted April 8 Posted April 8 What type / size of pipe is it that you suspect is leaking? Joints assumed in the run or just joints at either ends and long runs of push fit? Copper and soldered joints? Info plz Maybe just link it up to the cold mains and allow the leak to show itself? Ground or first floor?

Mr Punter Posted April 8 Posted April 8 I doubt the continuous pipe runs have failed. Test each run, find the suspect and report back.

Mr Punter Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Well if the pipe is leaking your idea of sliding 10mm inside should work fine, unless it is completely crushed and kinked.
Andehh Posted April 8 Posted April 8 (edited) Pex pipe is really robust stuff, is it a nail through it? 100% sure it isn't a dodgy fitting? What's the make up of the sub floor? Any way to run a draw cord and pull a new pipe through the space? Any pics? How far apart is the run? Two access hatches and work something between the two? Otherwise 10mm pipe isnt uncommon to run a radiator, sleeve could be an option unless the nail through the original pipe blocks it! Edited April 8 by Andehh

Have you looked at each end, all fittings, and have deduced that it is 100% the pipe in between that is leaking? Pathways for that pipe run known? Could it have been punctured by a screw or a nail, think where that could have occurred. It’s a piss-you-off situation, agreed, but let’s see if we can help you to resolve it via the least painful methods and avenues, ya?
saveasteading Posted April 9 Posted April 9 However much you don't want to see the 'plumber' again, you should get him back. Or is it just a bloke who was cheap, and has no company, reputation, insurance etc?
