junglejim Posted Saturday at 07:39 Posted Saturday at 07:39 I’m cladding my timber frame house using thermo ayous. I’ve tuned boards to make reveals for the windows that butt up against the frame. I’m wondering whether I should run a bead of silicone sealant sling the joint for weather tightness?
Mr Punter Posted Saturday at 10:08 Posted Saturday at 10:08 Silicone probably will not last very long and may discolour. Can you do it without?

BotusBuild Posted Saturday at 11:49 Posted Saturday at 11:49 I plan to use the external Soudal SWS sealant
Russell griffiths Posted Saturday at 12:08 Posted Saturday at 12:08 Leave a gap, it allows it to dry out quicker if it was to get wet. mat risinger did a video on this on YouTube, it was found that sealing up every gap kept moisture in rather than letting it in briefly and out quickly. 2
