Alan Ambrose Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 Great. Table is in my name, see you later. I think we’re 5 but the table will take 8. Look for a short oldish guy with white hair. I’m sure it had colour before I started with planning.

Nickfromwales Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I'm stuck at home, so can you all promise NOT to drink beer and have a great meet, please?

marshian Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Thanks all that made the effort to get out on this cold winters evening and @Alan Ambrose for the prior "site visit"  Sorry (Not sorry) for my structuring exercise 😉  As I said I "planned" the discussion points in the car on the way to the meet.  Something to "build" the evening providing some "Dimension" and "Detail" that could help conversation flow  and it's often said confession is always good for the soul  What's said at a Build Hub EA meet up stays within the group
LSB Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Thanks guys for a lovely evening, entertaining and educational and others can just wonder what we discussed 😞  1
Alan Ambrose Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 Can I ask - does anybody recommend their local approved building control people? I'm looking for an organisation with a bit of intelligence and flexibility . Preferably one that will accept PHPP calcs for Part O. Â I contacted Vantage in 2023 and they said they would. LA wouldn't. Â Similarly design stage SAP people? Â Â Â Â

JohnnyB Posted February 21 Posted February 21 I'm using the LA. The local guy is fairly good but he has mentioned they can't accept Passive house calculations, I assume he means PHPP. 8 minutes ago, G and J said: We have engaged Northgate Building Design in Ipswich for our SAP  How are you getting on with them? I thought my SAP calcs were all in hand but found out this week that they are not! As I'm not using standard build details I've just been told they will need to model each junction. They have also added in that I need to sign up to an app to submit the photos needed for the calculations.  Â

Were you given any idea of cost for modelling? I haven't been yet. I don't think we have anything standard, or near to standard, he was talking about needing to model all the junctions as we have hempcrete walls.
Alan Ambrose Posted February 21 Author Posted February 21 Thanks all re BC - I'll let you know who I go for. Â >>>Â They have also added in that I need to sign up to an app to submit the photos needed for the calculations. Â @JohnnyBÂ - do you know which app that is? I see 'Timemark' is quite popular.

I have a list that are approved by Elmhurst Energy, attached below, and I can use whichever I like. I haven't had time to look at them in any detail yet but some looked like they were aimed at smaller pojects. It would be easier if I only had a few options. I can't see Timemark on this list so there must be other options as well. Are Elmhurst one of many companies the assesments are done through? This is a world I know nothing about. Elmhurst_Photo_Evidence_Applications_List_v1.xlsx
Alan Ambrose Posted February 24 Author Posted February 24 Anyone up for Thurs 6th March? Also, any thoughts re format, location etc? I wonder whether some people might want to nominate some subjects they want to cover?Â
