Cedral or Hardie cladding ?

I have had a quote for both of these brands of weatherboarding. Have always thought that i was going to use Cedral but the Hardie is quite a bit cheaper and to be honest i cannot see a difference.

Does anyone have experience of either of them to know whether one is inferior to the other or any other reason why you would not go for the Hardie cladding?

I don't know about Hardie plank but in metal roofing and artificial slates the quality of Tegral stuff (cedral/eternity) would be at the higher end.

I’ve no experience of Cedral 

But have used lots of Hardy Really easy to cut and fix I did the cladding on four about 15 years ago Still look fine 

Get some sample of each 

Also look at the warranty

I’ve installed cedral . After yrs it looks exactly the same as the day I installed it . My only gripe apart from cost is you can scratch it easily ….

I have installed a large amount,  they are both very good .

My personal opinion is I prefer Hardie especially the VL plank

I’m installing VL Plank at the moment, it’s pretty good
